General

At the Institute for Human Biology, we presently seem to be "lonely scientific callers" in a dramatically overspecialised academic "desert". We cannot build on any relevant education nor on any comprehensive literature that would already be there.

We therefore create an initial educational foundation - the scientific content and the basic structure - of a novel education in Functional and Human Biology from scratch.

Presently, we are tutoring a small number of selected international students, whom we educate individually in Functional and Human Biology in personalised one-on-one life online sessions.

Our Educational Vision

We intend to hand over actual education in Human Biology to interested professional educators and educational institutions by assisting them to build-up their own novel Department of Functional and Human Biology, which first requires to educate their educators.

We envision that the fundamentally usefuly rational human life science Human Biology will flow into general education and eventually becomes a (much needed) collective common knowledge of biological life skills and a common understanding of a functionally optimal physical and social environment for us humans.

What you must bring along

Human Biology is certainly intensive to study but it is not difficult to comprehend. It is a consequently logical natural science. Hence, there isn't much you must learn by heart, most of it you can rationally understand.

However, studying Human Biology may be personally challenging. There may be previously learned non-rational social, religious, and academic conventions, paradigms, and assumptions with respect to us humans, human behaviour, and humanity as a whole, which you may have to overcome personally.

Studying Human Biology requires persistence, an independent critical mind, self-awareness, and the principal courage to disagree with some popular conventions, academic authorities and celebrities, and floods of academic articles and papers. It requires a strong motivation.

Motivation

The motivation you must bring along is an insatiable curiosity about the greater dynamic context of Nature, about our own integral species (humanity), and the desire to understand "what makes you personally tick - and why" as a human being.

If you enjoy to think logically consequent, critically, non-judgmentally, and if you have the intent to improve your own quality of life and that of people around you, of society, and ultimately of humanity as a whole, you qualify as a student.

Your motivation must be the desire to understand. If you intend to sit through a Human Biology education in order to socially shine with an exotic certificate of education or an academic title, you do not qualify.

Knowledge Background

Ideally, you bring along a harmonised polymath knowledge of the basics of the natural sciences Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth sciences - about grade 12 of a broad general education.

This is no absolute requirement. As long as you are interested in these natural sciences, we pick you up where you are in terms of relevant knowledge. On the other hand, if you are not at least interested in these sciences, you can't comprehend Human Biology.

A higher education is not required nor would it be particularly useful, since the basics of Functional and Human Biology are presently no part of any higher academic education, on which you could build your understanding.

Schedule

Governing factor is exclusively your own interest in this fundamental life topic. We are here to serve you accordingly. You set the pace of your learning and decide how deep you intend to go. We serve you with a respectively harmonised understanding and with suggestions how to practically apply what you have understood.

You do not need to commit to any number of lessons nor do we dictate any fix schedule or curriculum.

Fees

As a not-for-profit organisation, our dedicated goal is to provide a most affordable education possible with a highest possible educational value. We do our best to keep our fees within your possibilities.

We charge only per delivered lesson as we go, the frequency of which you decide. This allows you to stay within your personal budget, remain flexible, and to avoid the devastating long-term burden of any educational loans.

What you may take home

You may take home a general understanding of the non-negotiable given greater biological framework of human life with respect to both, optimal behaviour as well as an optimal physical and social environment.

Apart from providing yourself with practical biological directions for an optimal physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy, balanced, and fulfilling life, a general understanding of Human Biology may serve you personally with respect to communication, parenting, education, relationships, and lifestyle, as well as professionally in any profession dealing with other humans, human wellbeing, human performance, human physical environments including social, and human living spaces.

You may also take home somewhat realistic expectations in experts, medicine, economy, corporations, technologies, politics, governments, international organisations, etc., since these are all activities of individuals or groups of humans, which are limited by their human biology - limitations you may now recognise and understand.
